John Sellers is Co-Founder of Double Eagle, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Double Eagle Energy and Tumbleweed Royalty

John Sellers is Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Double Eagle Energy Holdings and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Tumbleweed Royalty.

John began his career in the oil and gas industry in 2009 after several successful years in real estate development. Since co-founding Double Eagle, he has led the leasing of more than one million acres and the execution of over $15 billion in transactions across multiple platforms. Under his leadership, Double Eagle has acquired large acreage positions, completed major transactions, and built strong teams to grow each business.

In addition to Double Eagle, John co-founded Tumbleweed Royalty, a company focused on acquiring minerals and royalties in the Permian Basin. Through partnerships with institutional investors and family offices, Tumbleweed has built and monetized significant mineral positions in the Midland and Delaware basins.

A fourth-generation cattleman, John remains actively involved in his family’s ranching business. A native of Canyon, Texas, he attended Texas Tech University, where he studied economics and was a member of the football team. John and his wife, Tracy, live in Fort Worth with their three children.
